My friend recommended this 8-day trip to me, and I’m so glad I listened. Going straight from the ancient soul of Xi'an to the crazy, futuristic energy of Shanghai was such a trip. The pace was surprisingly relaxed for just a week—we had plenty of time to drink coffee, look around, and just take it all in. The food in Xi'an was a massive highlight for me. It’s the perfect bite-sized look at both old and new China. Super smooth and stress-free.

Xi'an and Shanghai were such a strong contrast, and that made the trip memorable. The Terracotta Warriors and Tang-style streets gave us a real sense of history, while Shanghai brought river lights, gardens, and a more modern elegance. It felt short, but very complete.
