Most people just stay in Xi'an for two days to see the warriors, but spending nearly a week here was the best decision. The city has this old, comforting soul. My favorite days were spent riding a bike on top of the ancient city wall at sunset and getting lost in the lively food markets—the noodles here are insane! It feels modern but you can still feel the dust of the old Silk Road. Perfect length of time to slow down and live like a local. Truly wonderful.

Xi'an felt alive, not just historical. Walking the old city wall, seeing the Terracotta Warriors, trying local food, and making a small terracotta figure by hand made the experience much more personal. It was one of the cities I kept thinking about after leaving China.
