I needed a break from my hectic city life back in London, and this trip was exactly what the doctor ordered. Lake Erhai is so incredibly peaceful, and just wandering around Lijiang Old Town without a map was my favorite part. The local Bai and Naxi people we met were genuinely sweet and welcoming, not touristy at all. It just felt very cozy and grounded. If you're looking to touch base with yourself again, do this trip. It really healed something in me.

Dali and Lijiang were beautiful, but what I remember most is the calm rhythm of the journey. Erhai Lake felt peaceful, and Lijiang's old streets had so much warmth. I never felt rushed, and I would happily recommend this trip to anyone who wants to see a softer side of China.
